Effective Stardate 10105.19, Brigadier Thomas C. Guertin, SFMC, has assumed command of Space Station Ian Fleming.  BDR Guertin relieves ADM Garrick Halverson who has served as Commanding Officer of the station since it's commissioning in 1998.  The new CO has announced that ADM Peg Pellerin will remian as Executive Officer and his predecessor will replace him as the Second Officer.

BDR Tom Guertin joined Starfleet in 2001 serving as Executive Officer of the USS Avalon during it's shakedown cruise.  He was then assigned as Records Officer of the USS O'Bannon.  While serving onboard the O'Bannon, LT Guertin joined the Starfleet Marine Corps becoming a member of the Aerospace Branch and serving as a member of the 987th MSG.  CPT Guertin then was reassigned to the 981st MEU, an SFMC Fighter Squadron not affiliated with a chapter.  In 2005, CPT Guertin became Officer In Charge of the 15th Brigade of the SFMC, a position he still holds.  CPT Guertin was recruited by VADM Garrick Halverson as Second Officer of Space Station Ian Fleming.  He was also assinged to form a new Marine Strike Group aboard the station which became the 907th MSG, a unit of the Support Branch, Military Intelligence specialty of the SFMC. After rising to the rank of Colonel,  Tom was assigned as Commanding Officer of the USS Cumberland for it's shakedown cruise after which he returned to Space Station Ian Fleming and to his Second Officer Duties.  Following his return, the 907th MSG was recognized with the Legion of Valor award.  Tom was promoted to the rank of Brigadier on 10105.02

Tom was recognized as Region 15 Officer of the Year and has recieved the Distinguished Service Award.  Tom's SFMC decorations include the SFMC Service Commendation, Brigade Achievement Award, Leader's Commendation, Great Barrier Expediation Ribbon, Community Service Award, and Good Conduct Medal.
